The story of Woodland House Group begins with one clear belief: that exceptional early years care can change lives.
In 1991, our Managing Director, Glenis Keenan, proudly opened School House Private Day Nursery in Bromsgrove. With a background spanning social care, healthcare and early years education, she brought a deep understanding of children, families and the importance of nurturing environments where every child can thrive.
As a qualified Nursery Nurse (NNEB), Social Worker (CSS) and a mum of two, Glenis built her first nursery on real experience, not just professional knowledge, but lived understanding. Her commitment to high standards, child-centred care, and continuous improvement quickly became the foundation of her approach, leading to Ofsted Outstanding ratings across her settings.
What began as one Nursery has since grown into four Nurseries that now form Woodland House Group. Today, the group is led day-to-day by a team of inspiring, passionate and highly skilled people who share Glenis’s original vision.
Each leader, practitioner and team member across the group is inspired by the values established at the very beginning: a belief in excellence, care, professionalism, and always putting children first. Together, they continue to build on our founder’s legacy, striving not only to maintain Ofsted Outstanding in all areas, but to evolve, grow and raise standards across everything they do.
